Dear Morning,

Ahhhhhhh…. Morning, there you are! Let’s be honest. You and I have never had the best relationship. The natural rhythm of my cycle keeps me up late into the night, and many days I miss seeing you in your glorious splendor. I’m sorry for that. But on the days I arise in time to witness you ushering in the sunshine, I do love the subtle way you light my home.  And I so appreciate the gentle way you sneak into my bedroom and try to cajole me out of bed when it’s raining and all I want to do is to crawl further under the covers. I’m for sure not one of your people. I don’t jump up to greet you full of excitement and cheer, but I’m trying to do better these days and spend more time with you. Thank you for not rushing me to conversation, I can’t seem to find the words so early. Don’t get me wrong, you don’t make me grumpy, I’m just slow to get going. It’s not you, it’s me. I want you to know that even though we don’t spend a lot of time together, you have provided me with some of the best moments in my life. Sitting on the seashore — watching you rise with the sun across the water? Simply. Magnificent. In fact, I think we should try again. Meet me in the sand tomorrow? I’m buying…

Love & Peace,

Tonia 🙂
