I’ve always found it fascinating that you need light to exist, but seek to hide. What makes you so mysterious? Why are we afraid of what lurks inside of you? The sun and the moon are your friends. They want desperately to expose you. As I write this letter you are showing yourself across my paper making it difficult to see the words trailing behind you. Do you have a purpose or are you simply a side effect…
I remember as a child finding pleasure in your games. You allowed me to step on my sister’s head without causing her harm. Your puppets on my brother’s wall helped me to calm him before a bedtime he resisted. There honestly hasn’t been much thought of you since I was a child. I’m not a person who thinks about what scary thing might be hidden within you or if you harbor ugly secrets. I have no concern of what you could reveal that might be unpleasant.
Admittedly, there is something comforting in glancing myself in you as I walk along the beach at night in the moonlight. Your perfect reminder that I exist in this moment and that is what matters most.
Love & Peace,
